Peter Dorans – Director of Business Development

Peter leads on the development of Plantlife’s commercial activity including our specialist biodiversity consultancy.  

Peter believes that the recovery of nature is something in which we all have a stake and can only be achieved if we all play a role.  For much of his career he has worked to combine the experience and expertise of the nature conservation sector with the ingenuity, resource, and innovation of the private sector.  He began his conservation career with the New Zealand Environment Ministry before returning to the UK and working with The Wildlife Trusts before joining Plantlife in 2021.  

Peter is based in our Retford, Nottinghamshire office but travels widely throughout the UK visiting partners and projects.  Outside work he is proud dad to twin girls, enjoys time in nature, is a gardener and a DIY’er of questionable skill.  Read more
