People leave us gifts in their wills for many reasons – from love of the nature, wild plants and fungi, to wanting to ensure a future countryside full of colour and diversity for future generations.
How gifts in wills are used
A gift in your will to Plantlife will be used to:

- Save vulnerable wild plants and fungi
- Inspire a love of wild plants and nature in others

How do I make my will?
It can be daunting making a will for the first time or changing your will, but it is easier than you might think.
Anyone can write a simple will and can pledge to charity at the same time.
What information do I need about Plantlife to include a gift in my will?
You just need our full name, address and registered charity number:

What should be included in my will?
This is entirely your decision, but the main things to consider are:
- Who you would like to be the executor of your wishes – friend, family member or solicitor
- What you own – property, savings, shares, valuable items
- Who you want to remember – family members, friends and charities you care about.
Can I include a gift in my will to a specific project, reserve or area of Plantlife’s work?
You can ask that your gift is put towards a specific geographic area of Plantlife’s work (e.g. England, Wales, Scotland or Internationally). However, it is likely that Plantlife will not receive your gift for sometime after you have made your will, so if your gift is unrestricted we can use it where it is most needed at the time.
If you would like your gift to be linked to a specific part of our work please contact us before you finalise your will, so we check that we are able to meet your wishes.
I am a solicitor or Executor for a will which includes a gift to Plantlife, what do I need to do?
If Plantlife is a beneficiary in a will or codicil that you are administrating please contact
[email protected] or [email protected] and we can send you our ‘guide for executors and legal professionals dealing with an estate’ which names Plantlife as a beneficiary.
