If managed efficiently and effectively for wildlife and people, Britain’s road verges and public green spaces can be an essential part of nature networks and nature’s recovery.
We invite local authorities, highways agencies and contractors to take initiative in policy and practice to find cost savings, carbon savings and wins for wildlife. We want to work with you to support the public services that maintain verges and open spaces and help to address barriers you might be encountering when trying to adopt lower-carbon and nature-friendly management.
Finding nature-based solutions for the management and enhancement of our public green infrastructure will be an essential part of delivering for the economy, Net Zero and Biodiversity Duties.
